How I Got Started...

​

​My name is Kimberly Needles of Kimberly Needles Photography. I have been a professional photographer for 18 years.

I have loved taking photographs since I was a child. I was always known as the "one with the camera" and like Mary and her little lamb, my camera was sure to go. My great-grandfather was an avid photographer who took pictures all over the world.  He would teach me the inner workings of the camera every time we would visit him. I was immediately hooked and had to know more about the artform.

When my career started in 2005, I would mainly capture my family, small weddings and seniors to get the experience I needed.

Since 2015, I have been photographing for the Miss Virginia Organization and the preliminary pageants.

In 2018 was asked to capture the behind-the-scenes footage of:

-Santa Girl (2019)
-GetAWAY (2020)
-A Cupid for Christmas (2021)
-Mount Hideaway Mysteries (2022)

-Miss Valentine (2023)

I have received awards for head shots, high school seniors and wedding photography and have traveled internationally for my work.

My work has been published in Win Magazine, World Class Beauty Magazine and Centerfold Beauty. Last fall, I photographed for Robbs Report Magazine.

For the past 8 years, I have been nominated for Best Photographer in Winchester, VA.
I specialize in Maternity, Families, Seniors, Engagements, Weddings, Head Shots and Events.
